Life is complicated enough. I'm not.

It must have been around 1994. I was 11 when I was allowed to take out my first subscription to Kicker, Germany's biggest football magazine. From that point on, I read more about football than I ever did for school. I wanted to be a sports journalist.

That never happened. But I did write about local sports for a regional newspaper early on – and somewhere along the way I got my hands on an SLR camera. At a time when those things still cost real money and phone cameras were anything but smart. Two fascinations took hold: writing. And making images.

When my geography degree collapsed after six weeks of complete boredom, the direction became clear. I taught myself Photoshop and Cinema 4D and applied to an agency in Cologne. They hired me as a graphic designer and supported me through an evening course in communications. At some point – by then an Art Director – I realised: images aren't enough. I want to say things.

So I went to Hamburg's Texterschmiede. Learned the craft. Then Grey Düsseldorf – an international ECD team, Febreze, Lenor, Pilsner Urquell. With "Lost Choir" we picked up ADC, NY Festivals, AME Awards and One Show.

At DDB came congstar, eBay, HUK Coburg. 2017 the move to Persil – first as Senior Copywriter, then in 2020 as CD Copy with global responsibility. Since 2023 at HeimatTBWA, continuing with Persil, adding Spee.

Outside of work, I shoot photos. Street photography, fine art prints, started my own Etsy label (and failed). And I edit video. Not because I have to – but because visual language never really let go of me. Since the very first day I held a camera.
